A great post by GoDaddy.com founder and CEO, Mr. Bob Parsons

Mr.Parsons talks about his life and how was GoDaddy.com came to life. It is a great read for people who have a dream of making it big some day.
And now, my thoughts on the post:
This is exactly what I’m talking about!! try telling that to my father and uncle! …. *sigh* it all began one night when I was vacationing in my grandfather house in Jeddah over the holidays. I was in the living room with my father and uncle, just sitting there watching TV. I don’t recall what was the exact question my uncle asked me; it was about my current state in college or maybe it was about my work (at that time I still had one semester left to my BSc, and I’ve been taking care of the Intel lab for about 4 months). Next thing I know that question turned into a heated discussion on my work choice/Career path. I was planning to take a year after college, learn more about game development, then apply to gaming companies abroad (while taking care of the Intel lab as my day job). My father wanted me to go to Yokogawa (contractor for Aramco, where he works. and now I know that they don’t need Software Eng.) and then transfer to Aramco, and he justify this as a safe career path and good job security; and my uncle was backing his view. My father think that I’m being dreamy, and that ‘game dev’ing wont put food on the table (as he says).
I tried to explain that I hate doing business applications, and that my true passion is in games/graphic applications or robotics(something scientific I mean). The discussion ended after 3 hours, around 4 am. Me being the stubborn head that I am, wasn’t confinced, and my father and uncle went with “Fine! Its your life”. I have to say that I felt insecure about my choice after that discussion. I know that if you want to make a dream come true, you have to work for it; but I wasn’t sure about my ability to make it. After reading Mr.Parsons post, I went “Hell yeah! thats what I’m talking about!” (as you have read earlier :P ). I thinking I’m more in love with teaching game programming, as I have gave a seminar or two about it in my university, plus I opened the game club there (closed now, but thats another story). So, until I spent my two poor years, I’ll keep on ‘dev’ing! cause I Love it!
Thank you, Have a nice day :)
